The Bangalore Schools Sports Foundation (BSSF) is a pioneering Sports-for-Development organization dedicated to empowering children, youth, and communities through the transformative power of sports, education, leadership, and humanitarian action.
Established in 2009 and headquartered in Bengaluru, India, BSSF was founded on a simple yet powerful belief: every child deserves the opportunity to discover their potential, regardless of their social, economic, or personal circumstances.
Over the years, BSSF has evolved into one of India's leading organizations using sport as a catalyst for social change, impacting thousands of children and young people across diverse communities. Through innovative programs, strategic partnerships, and community-driven initiatives, BSSF has created pathways for participation, inclusion, leadership, health, education, and personal development.
Our work extends beyond the playing field. We leverage sport as a platform to address critical social challenges, including education access, gender equity, health awareness, youth leadership, disability inclusion, stigma and discrimination, and community resilience. By creating safe and inclusive environments, we empower young people to build confidence, develop life skills, pursue excellence, and become active contributors to society.
BSSF is internationally recognized for its pioneering initiatives, including Champion In Me, a globally acclaimed program empowering children and youth living with HIV through sport. The program has received recognition from international development and sports communities for its innovative approach to combating stigma and discrimination while promoting health, dignity, and opportunity.
As the driving force behind the Bangalore School Games and India's engagement with the International Children's Games, BSSF provides young athletes with opportunities to compete, learn, and connect locally, nationally, and globally. These platforms promote excellence in sport while fostering friendship, cultural understanding, leadership, and global citizenship.
Today, BSSF continues to build a movement that extends far beyond competition. We are committed to creating sustainable impact through sports development, youth leadership, education, community engagement, and humanitarian initiatives that transform lives and strengthen communities.
An inclusive and empowered society where every child and young person can thrive, lead and achieve their fullest potential.
